Slow Food In Schools

New Farmers' Market in Winston-Salem

Since October of 2005 members of our local Slow Food community have been meeting and conversing about the current state of public school nutrition.  Through these conversations there was clearly enough concern and enthusiasm that would support a Slow Food in Schools program here in Triad.

This spring our local Piedmont Triad Slow Food convivium will be launching the Slow Food in Schools program for interested schools across the Triad.  At this time the committee is being formed and school and project ideas are being considered.

We are really excited about this endeavor.  Children and teenagers across the nation are in a desperate need for a "nutritional makeover".  The Slow Foods in Schools program will give us an avenue to reach parents and children right here in the Triad.

EpiCourier will keep you updated on the Slow Food in Schools program as it progresses.  If you would like to be involved, send an email to epicourier@gmail.com.
