Here's what we're all about:

ssion:  to be a community voice to promote and enhance the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market and to educate our community on the importance of locally and seasonally grown foods.

 

Our Goals:

Bring together all who love the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market that we can share with each other, our community, and the world on the importance of our local farmers and Farmers' Markets.

        Establish regular meeting time and place.

        Maintain web log. 


Work on projects that will enhance the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market as well as the health and well being of our community. 
Examples are:

 

        5th Annual Farmers Appreciation Day

        Create a gathering place for casual retreat, meetings and fund raisers.

        Encourage farmers to plant late season, winter season and produce diverse in culture to increase farmer participation at the Farmers' Market during the typical off season.

      Support nutrition and agriculture programs that promote the use of locally grown produce and Farmer' Markets. 

      WIC (Women, Infants and Children) and the Senior Nutrition programs

     Slow Food Movement

     Weston A. Price

     5 Area College and Universities

     Church Organizations and local nonprofits

 

Long Term Goals

Establish ourselves as nonprofit with 501 C3 status.

Creating new fundraising and marketing campaigns.

Downtown Market

I am trying to generate interest in having th Greensboro Curb Market relocated to he oldunused Southern Railway freight depot lot at S. Elm an MLK Blvd. The recent explosion of Concdo construction downown and the newly reconstructed Southside Square complex nas created an ideal situation for a downtown walk-up market.
