Friends of the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market -

Local Chef's in the Chef Showcase

On Saturday November 12, local food writer and personal chef, Sarah Jones presented a Baked Pumpkin with Apples at the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market in the Chef Showcase for market patrons to sample.  What a great recipe and festive centerpiece for your Thanksgiving feast!   And you'll definitely want to read more from Sarah on her website Thought For Food.  Sarah writes on a variety of food topics that give real facts on the food we eat, how food effects our bodies and the environment as a whole.  Sarah always has great recipes too.  Which is exactly where you'll ind that wonderful Baked Pumpkin with Apple recipe!

I'll be sure to keep you posted to Sarah's next visit in the Chef Showcase.  But meanwhile mark your calendar for Saturday December 3,  2005 where you will be able to sample more homemade pancakes prepared by Alex Amorosa of Cheesecakes by Alex.  He'll be topping them off this time with baked apples from the Triad area.

The Chef Showcase is open to anyone who would like to share a seasonal culinary treat.  All you need to do is bring food for sampling (amount varies by season) and display (optional)-this can include copies of recipe, contact information, community information, etc.  The market will provide utensils, sample cups, and gas grill-top for heating.  It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning talking with other people who love food!

For more information on the Chef Showcase please contact Gerry Alfano,  Market Coordinator for the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market, (336) 574-3547.
